Communications Associate

The Communications Associate works with the Communications Director to create and strategize digital content for upcoming programs.

Responsibilities include:

  • Collaborating with colleagues in Development, HR, and Production to strategize social media campaigns for upcoming events

  • Engaging audiences on social media by responding to comments and questions

  • Creating promotional graphics for social media and newsletter emails, in tandem with Communications Director

  • Resizing photos and adjusting copy for different digital platforms (Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, website, email newsletter)

  • Occasionally taking photos for social media posts at Theatre Prometheus events (fundraisers, opening nights, rehearsals)

  • Supporting Communications Director with press outreach

Requirements:

  • At least one year's experience working at a non-profit, preferably theatre-related

  • Fluent in major social media platforms and best practices

  • Familiar with website editing and upkeep (particularly Squarespace)

  • Passion for diverse, women-focused theatre

  • Works well independently and as part of a team

  • A flair for the creative!

Please note that we are not currently able to provide full payment for this position. We offer a small, one-time stipend for our administrative staff and use the rest of our limited budget to pay artists and tech crew. We are eager to work with you to grow our budget to the point that we can change this!
